Who Pays the Real Estate Agents?

It might surprise you to know that, in almost all cases, the seller is responsible for the commissions earned by the agents on both sides of the transaction.

This is because the listing agent is hired by the seller to sell their property. That agent then lists and markets the property so that buyer’s agents are aware and bring potential buyers to view. When a contract is written, the agents work together to make it to closing day. At that point, the listing agent technically “shares” the commission with the buyer’s agent.

Just so you know, Blue Bridge does not charge any hidden fees to either sellers or buyers. Our sellers always know up front what they’ll be paying, and our buyers don’t get charged at all for our services.
